Danielle Beck-Ellsworth PsyD MFT CEDS

Dr. Beck-Ellsworth (MFC # 48529) has been providing therapeutic and educational services since 2006. After receiving her Bachelors of Science in Cognitive Science, Neuroscience and Psychology at the University of California, San Diego, she completed her masters and doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University.

Dr. Beck-Ellsworth began her professional career as a volunteer for Healthy Within Foundation.  She facilitated countless life skills groups for elementary and middle school boys and girls through the Full of Ourselves and Girl Talk programs.  Dr. Beck-Ellsworth advanced to train, supervise and facilitate volunteers in educating their own groups.

After several years in the prevention field, Dr. Beck-Ellsworth began treating drug and alcohol abuse, eating disorders, depression, anxiety, and trauma. She has experience working with all ages as well as males and females. Dr. Beck-Ellsworth has treated eating disorders and drug and alcohol abuse at all levels of care including residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient facilities.

In addition to helping people with addiction, depression, and anxiety, Dr. Beck-Ellsworth also helps clients with life transitions, meaning-making, spirituality, and identity exploration. Her grounded presence creates a calm, safe place for clients to feel comfortable. Dr. Beck-Ellsworth views problems as temporary. Clients are not seen as the problem, instead anxiety or depression are viewed as the culprits to suffering and misery. Dr. Beck-Ellsworth works collaboratively with clients and uses systems theory, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), mindfulness, and eye-movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) to successfully relieve clients of their problems.

Since May 2011, Dr. Beck-Ellsworth has been supervising marriage and family therapist interns. She is currently a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS), a Certified EMDRIA Therapist, and an Approved AAMFT Supervisor Candidate. Additionally, Dr. Beck-Ellsworth is a clinical member of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (iaedp).

In addition to providing therapeutic and supervision services Dr. Beck-Ellsworth provides education services as a continuing education provider (PCE #5168) and professor. She teaches several courses at San Diego State University, including social psychology, behavior modification, and eating disorders. She also teaches master and doctoral level courses at Alliant International University.  Dr. Beck-Ellsworth is an invited guest lecturer and can provide trainings and workshops on the topic of eating disorders.
